I like most people on here have a landline and also a mobile. But other that the occasional 0845 number I never use it. Yes its good for incoming business calls but still think that £10 a month rental is way too high!!
-
£10.00 a month? i thought it was 14.00
Anyway get rid and move it over to an internet line or virtual number and just use for incoming much cheaper. only problem is your internet unless you have it with virgin
-
08 Number are not a good idea as a lot of custies have to pay more to call on them.
I always say on all my business literature the mobile is the best number to reach me. MY BUSINESS LANDLINE IS MOSTLY FOR MESSEGES SO LEAVE A GOOD ANSWERING MESSEGE. 8) 8)

I think you must have mis-read what I said. I actually meant the 0845 numbers that I use myself like my bank, insurance, etc.

I do things differently from you.
I have a BT landline and an Asda PAYG mobile.
Therefore, I make a fair few calls by landline. However, I route most of them via an override carrier which greatly decreases the costs.
The landline number is mainly about being contacted. I also have an 0845 number that maps to it. I give out all three numbers these days because, due to a great deal of misinformation about 0845 numbers, many people dislike phoning them.
The misinformation I refer to is when they are likened to 0870 or 09xx numbers. My 0845 number is charged at 3.5ppm to the customer. They only have to phone it for a few minutes on a first enquiry whereupon, if they become a customer, I give out my geographical landline number. I only did it this way at the start because I thought I would be moving and thought it would be better to just be able to point the virtual number to a new landline number rather than having to tell everyone about a number change.

Free calls after 6pm and at weekends. My missus is never off it.
-
I make most of my calls with my mobile. I've got 800 free mins per month included with my tarrif. I've also noticed that most customers that ring my landline use their mobiles.
-
we never use our landline, only had it put in so we could get better internet than a dongle. I thought girlfriend might use it to call home (New Zealand), But she just skypes as its free.

Hi ive looked at you link and from what i gather with the £5.99p option you unlimited calls to uk landlines (2000 mins fair usage) but mobiles call cost 12p a minute at all times, i think i read it right. But it looks a good service and would have saved me alot on my last BT bill.
-
To be honest i use mine for incoming calls
Ive just added another number with a different STD code another for £2.99 a month
You need a good broadband package though
I like the way i can divert all my calls to my mobile while im out-for no extra cost

hi mate hows you doin man me personally have all make all calls via pay as ya go fone and incoming contract either way you get the call want to keep the fone bill down so thats why i do this for customers ringing you dont think it makes much difference you can also divert your house fone to your mobile in the settings menu thats if you have a blackberry mate
-
I'm ok thanks. I think you can divert your landline calls to most mobiles mate.
-
I got rid of our landline as everyone phoned me on the mobile. Even new custy's phone me on mobile now. It's ok for the office business's but for one man bands a mobile is ok. A lot of people say if you have a landline more people will phone you on it.
But like everything, people change there opinions.
