my local town is introducing parking charges it seems and can be up to 6 quid per day. i am in town centre every day of the week so this could cost me a few quid each month.
-
yes you can, just not fines
-
yep, certainly can.
-
yes --claim back anything that is required to carry out works during the course of your working day
parking fuel vehicles equipment clothing dry cleaning food water house bills (percentage)for office about a grand for office furniture start up costs
if you have a devious mind like mine and a little creative accounting you can make a company run at a loss and claim a substantial amount of tax credits (at least 2 5 star usa family holidays a years worth )also hold your annual agm in the carabean or somewhere nice again i think youlll find tax deductable if limited
use and abuse the system

Whilst i agree with the ethos of pay 'em nowt if and when possible, that has got to be the worst bit of advice i've ever read. No not worst, most stupid advice i've ever read.

but legal all you need is a good accountant that will advise you on what can be offset in the form of expenses
the tax office set the guidelines but dont make it generally known what you are able to claim for
-
but legal
I'd be pretty much certain you couldn't convince anyone that YOU are running at a loss of you're booking two hols to the states. Yes the company maybe, but YOU would have to be earning a wage to afford that and even the briefest of looks through anyones bank account and lifestyle would lead to them not getting tax credits based on a loss !! I'd guarantee it'll lead to a revised or estimated bill !!! And the quickest way to make people look for stuff like this is for it to be costing them.

have a chat with your accountant he should be able to advise you ref what can be claimed rather than sticking a big fat envelope full of receipts on his desk once a year you will be surprised what breaks are avaliable
not only regarding expenses but the way in which you pay yourself ie taking a lower wage and the use of dividends etc use of wife / partner as secretary use of part of house and all relative bills associated with it as a office
you will be surprised
could even you you dog as a guard dog for your business premises vets bills food etc etc
the list is endless
it may be worth a call--

i find it frustrating that the tax office never supplies us with the full picture if everyone were to claim for what they were fully entitled to this country would be in the poo poo

fair enough if you aren't on the wind up, but yes are correct you can claim a lot more than folk think. I did a business start up course and learned loads and part of that came from the tax office, and yes tax credits, % of house hold bills etc are all acceptable

G newton you are been silly Mate we know you are smart but to you want the tax man to think that. THEY CAN READ FORUMS.

thankyou mr mills--someone with a sensible business attitude
people are always afraid of the tax man
his job is to keep as much as he can for the government --he is not just going to give it away / tell you all the breaks that are avaliable
keep chipping away at them and claim claim claim---
they cant hang you for trying
