any one using one of these poles? i am need of a new pole, i currently use my cleantech super light modular for anything above 30ft, however it seems i am forever faffing about with a modular for quite a few odd jobs and my pole is forever breaking >:( Am thinking a telescopic at this height would be a lot easier!
Any advice on this pole would be apreciated.

I have a 44. Smax, Prefer it to my S2 these days.

I have the 40' supermax and it is brilliant. I got it to replace my 60' S2 which is a pain to operate as its modular ans sections chip and need replacing.
Igot the 40' supermax a year ago and the only problem i had was the clamps needed regluing regularly. I thnk Gardiners got the glue issue sorted out now, They sent some good glue to me a few months ago and never had a problem again. Have been using it practicly every day for a year now.
I will definately buy another again, well worth the money. Make sure you get the gooseneck and a lightweight brush.
At the same time I bought an 18' CLX. Had the same problem as the supermax but new glue sorted that out too. No other problems either.

Thats what i wanted to hear, sounds positive, would you no if they sell the extra sections seperatly to make the pole bigger as and when needed?

I dont know mate, I would guess they would but I would imagine the 44' is just one extra section. Therefore I would think it would be cheaper to buy the 44' and take the last section off? You would need to ask Gardiners if that is possible though.
Suppliers tend to charge alot if you just buy an additional section to upgrade a pole.

watching this post, as i could do with one of these, sick of my xtel at similar height, its like trying to hold up a triple extension ladder, complete with man on top cleaning window for you, in fact that would be lighter
I have a few big jobs where i could do with it so reckon its worth the money
Prices are funny though, the 40' is 499 but the next one up 47' is about 650 i think
Strange, just for 7'

I find the 40' reaches most jobs. I have a couple of 4 storey hotels and it reaches all windows. I have my old 60' S2 in case I need it but tbh I haven't used it in the past 12 months since I got the supermax. So if you have a pole bigger than 44' or above I would keep it as a spare for the occasional job and just buy the 40'
I used to use a 17' Xtel, but they are so heavy and they wear down compared to the CLX that has no wear and tear.
Saying all that, knowing my luck both poles will probably snap in two tomorrow ;D

smax 40 is brilliant, i now use this as an everyday pole due to my helper using my slx22, you can buy extra sections and last time i asked they where £100 plus vat

I have a 27 foot brodex pole which seems bombproof, but im sure clx/slx will be much more rigid and lighter to use although i find it ok till that last section starts extending then it gets whippy and heavy but cant wait to bin it
My 40 footer is an old 45 ft x tel i think , the bottom sectio is about the same thickness as my thigh haha, how they expected people to use them i dont know

hi ive just got a sopermax 50 with carbon gooseneck and used it on job all day and never swapped to smaller pole as so easy to use and light so would think supermax 40 be even easier to use!

ive just brought a clx 18. good pole but the positive stops are a waist of time they keep getting stuck. well they r just pieces of tape anyway. gonna buy a super max whens funds permit. still useing a brodex 31. feels like im lifting a scaffold tude now.
