Title: anyone use the S/L DUAL TRIM MONO?
Post by: dazmond on February 08, 2011, 05:36:17 pm
as above!ive got one but use the black dual trim flocked for most of my work and rinse brush off.i find this an excellent all arounder esp on leaded and georgian as theres a lot less drag on the windows.

ive been thinking of swapping for the mono and rinsing brush on to see if itll speed me up.i already use a high flow with pencil jets(60 on the p/f flowcontroller)but ive never had the bottle to rinse on yet!!

any of you guys rinse brush on with this mono supalite with good results?as its the rinsing that seems to take time when cleaning a window WFP.OR IS IT BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY?

its a fine line between scrubbing and rinsing and leaving a good finish and leaving spots!i do tend to over rinse(brush off!)to be safe but maybe im wasting a bit of time when the results will be the same? ??? ???

regards

i have the DT mono, i have been using it with pencil jets, and rinsing brush off. But this week i fitted it with the 40deg fan jets from gardiners and decided to rinse brush on.

The results, far superior and quicker rinsing, less strain having to hold the brush off the windows, and i have had no problems with spotting.

I havnt been doing wfp for very long, but seeing as some of the experienced guys rince on with fans and no problerms i thought i would give it a go and not get paranoid about it.

The DT mono brush is good because you only have a couple of rows of bristle on the window above the water stream, so the chance of spotting is minimal.

are they easy to fit  lee?i ve noticed their £11 to buy the 40 degree ones.just drill the right size hole in the stock of the brush and pop them in?do you glue them in or is there a better way?

i dont know why you cant just buy the brush with a choice or either pencil or fans?no supplier does this do they?it beggars belief that they dont really? ::) ::)

I use both those brushes with pencils & can rinse brush on with both unless it's a really minging first clean. ;)

you can get gardiners to fit them in the brush when you order it, but i got the jets after the brush. They are easy to fit, know the old ons out, i pull the 2 bunches or bristles closest to the jet hole out, then just went through with a 12mm ( i think, best to double check) drill, then know the fan jets in, the should be an interference fit so that the hold them selves in place, no need for glue.

Been using the DT Mono's for over a year - with fans for 8 months - best combo for reg cleans

I have had two of them with pencil jets. Always rinse brush on,  2litre per min flow rate. No problems.

Got a single trim mono now with 60 degree fans, took out middle row of bristles no problems rinsing on with that either.

Gardiners charge £5 to fit the fans for you.

Mmm, interesting stuff. Just  gone to WFP from bieng trad. and use SL MONO (white bristles) and rinse brush on which i  prefer. Also have a SL DT flocked and been trying that brush on, but i think need bit more experience :P. So think i will try 45deg fans on my mono with brush on after reading your post Lee,  cheers  :-*

Ive got all 3 dual trim gardiner brushes and have too say the mark 2 is a lot better then the new one, I think the splay on the new one is too much, and it bounces way too much on leaded this is why ive just recieved the 15 degree flocked... I use the mark 2 on 25ft pole as this is the pole I use daily and keep the mark 3 on 35ft pole as not in use daily...

They've just reintroduced the "original" 00 degree SL DT. ;)
