Been approached by an 18yo female today who wants to become a window cleaner!
Well she is unemployed at the moment and has tried every cleaning job advertised, but with no luck as most companies want experienced cleaners.
Thing is this is something that I have been thinking of for a while and that is to start up a crew just solely of female window cleaners!
Now I know I cant just advertise for females only due to sex discrimination
But if I was to have a name that would attract female rather than male like merry-maids did, I mean I don’t think many males applied to be a merry-maids
I was thinking more of something like( SHEILAS WINDOW CLEANING) ( bit like sheilas wheels)
I would not think to many men would want to be a Sheila!
I feel an all female window cleaning crew would go down well with the general public and its something completely new!
Fire away lads! ;D

Got 2 women working for us. Bit of a prob with kids at school etc. But generally ok

Taskers did it in Leeds West Yorkshire many many years ago. They went round all the shops wearing mini skirts and low cut tops.

PMT and babies, maternity leave spring to mind. ;D
Brave man!

Brave man!
Or stupid ;D
But i think it would create a new and fresh image to window cleaning
Do you really believe it would create a 'new and fresh image', or do you think its a gimmick?
For example what else have you done to help create a 'new and fresh image' ?

To the general public it would be something different!
Well you're not wrong. Our target audience is mostly women though, all the fellas are out at work ;D

I think your customers, especially the men, will go for it

I had a girl work with me for nearly 2 years ok most of the time but could be a lazy moody cow sometimes.\mind you had a couple of blokes work with me who werent any better!

Don't think an all female team would work their bodies aren't made for the tough manual work. A mix of men and women is a good thing at least the men can do the harder stuff that the girls can't. I work with my wife and am speaking from experience. If you only had girls working for you then 10+ years down the line you'd be paying out compensation for work sustained injuries.

I got a woman who works for me now, she does a good job but can't handle the larger poles and definitely doesn't like builders cleans but still does them. She hasn't let me down yet with sickness and hopefully there won't be any maternity leave as she is 40!

Miniskirts and ladders come to mind! They will clean your windows for £10 and for an extra fiver you can hold the ladder for them.
