I have been asked to quote with and without protector on a 100% Wool Berber Style Carpet. Not a big area (40 sq m max), but lounge, diner, stairs and landing.
To date I have not applied protector to a carpet and so would like to hear your recommendations on which protector and how you would apply. I can obviously read manufactureres recommendations but want to know from your experiences.
The customer advised that the carpet was protected with Guardsman when new, some five years ago and would like a quote with this product but also an alternative.
I am considering Prochem's Flouroseal Plus but am open to suggestions.
As always, thanks in advance.

I use Scotchgard concentrate diluted 1 - 6 with water
Always rinse with acid when cleaning before protector, or give a misting with acidic rinse prior to protecting a new carpet.
Make sure you reset pile with grooming brush after application to make sure it is applied evenly.
I charge 50% of the clean to apply protector.
Prochem stuff is good but works out expensive as it is rtu

Yep......Flouroseal water-based good product. As mentioned leave carpet acid rinsed and then lighty brush in.
Jobs a good un ;D

Think you have to be "guardsman approved" to be able to use it. I wouldn't anyway as yo ucould be left holding the "baby" if you apply Guardsaman and then they have a spillage which you can't get out.
Always found Floroseal very good but as with all these types of things you need to explain it doesn't come with a warranty; it's not bullet proof and very much like insurance-if you never spill anything on it the client may think it was a complete weaste of money.

Before thinking to have a protection on your room. The product should be able to provide adequate protection to your carpet from paint, and preferably even from snow, dirt and mud.
