Title: Probate Clean

Hi All
Just been to see a house that needs a full clean due to the lady dying.  It's a 3 bed semi, 2 reception rooms 1 with french doors all carpeted apart from kitchen/morning room/bathroom which is lino, the kitchen (small) is the original one (1940's house) and so is the bathroom and they are both a state!

The bath is the original one so what is the best product to use to get rid of staining and rust marks?

My partner and myself are doing the clean and reckon should take 7-8hours was thinking of £240.00 inc materials, just wondering what you guys thought, cooker as well, which can only be described as minging! no carpet clean.

hi nat1    sorry the place sounds like it needs gutting and total refurb    not just cleaning

Hi John

Yes it does need a refurb, the solicitors just want it smelling fresher i guess for people to come and look round, my partner does property maintenance so we will be leaving a few flyers around for the potential buyer, unless a builder buys it, as it really needs a kitchen extension and a few walls knocking down!

Hi Nat,
I am assuming that the bath is enameled if so the rust/staining will be from water dripping from taps which usually leaves rust and green staining. you can try soaking kitchen roll in white vinegar and place it over the staining leave for 20 -30 minutes and the staining should start to move.
I would use white vinegar so it doesn`t smell like the fish and chip shop.

pple keep asking n talking prices on here but lets face it were all in different places on here and whilst advice on cleaning never changes- geographically prices vary massively. See £240 sounds ok for two days work (2 operatives 1 day) where I am, considering it's cleaning. All power to those that get as much as they desire or more wherever you are, but the old North South divide seems as relevant as it ever was. All I'm saying is it's hard to price for someone else's area.
