Anyone :)
-
What is your normal hourly rate?
Why not just charge them that?
-
Because I normally quote per job, and was just trying to get an idea what other people charge so that I am not over/under pricing!!!
Cheers

You must know what you need to earn per hour to make a profit so price at that level, if you are overpricing then you won't get the job but it means they can't afford what you need to make profit, if you are underpricing then you will get so much work you won't be able to handle it and you will be making profit on every job.
Win win.
-
Fair enough Andy,
So what would you charge an hour then?
Cheers
Alan
-
I would charge my normal hourly rate. ;D
-
Which is? You can always let me know by emailing me ;)
-
My required rate will not necessarily be the same as yours Alan so it is irrelevant.
If you want to be priced competitively in your area then ring Worthing Council and ask them how much they would charge to come and clean some graffiti off your premises.
-
Good point ;)
Had already thought of that, but I thought I may get a bit of help/advice from here, but obviously I was barking up the wrong tree!!!
But thanks for the advice Andy ;)
Cheers

Asking for prices on here is a dangerous thing to do to be honest.
Some state ridiculously low prices and some state head in the clouds high prices. Best to find out what your competition charge and see if you can be competitive whilst retaining the ability to turn a profit.
If you can't then move onto the next thing.
Good luck

£35-£40 per hour depending how much work you get from them.
-
£35 psm min callout £200
-
It's tender time for Graffiti with some Councils so people won't be sharing info, I'd have thought.
-
Alan,
Councils are paying about £11.50 per hour to their employees(when you take into account pensions etc and holiday pay and redundancy etc) thats why they are asking for your hourly rate. So if you get called out on weekends, why not state call out fee and so much an hour after that until job finishes. You know how much an hour you would have to pay your operative and go from there.

Thanks for the business advice guys ;)
Lee, Cliff & Jason, thanks for being the only people to answer the original question :)

Don't forget to include enough to cover insurance, materials, fuel, tax, admin, advertising, accountancy fees, van costs. Add those to your staff wages and you will soon find that £11.50 nowhere near covers it. Oh yes you might want to make profit too.
Like I say, it is dangerous to take advice on costs from this forum.

Andy how about dropping me an email with your ideas for prices then?
Cheers

I didnt say that was what I would charge, just pointing out what the council pays to their own, thats why they wont work for it . Its just a basic price to work from and bear in mind they are looking for the cheapest now that there are government cutbacks on budgets. You wouldnt believe what some companies go in at to get the work.

Thanks for the emails Lee & Carl very helpful ;)

We charge £35.00 per hour labour and a minimum of £30.00 travel /weekends £45.00 and £30.00 travel and we will raise that fee in April , due to Petrol & Diesel costs. they can take it or leave business is business if they want cowboys at £9.00 per hour then they can have the business as it has happened before but the customer always call us back to to the job properly.
