Leaflet drop i tend to get 2 jobs out of a 100 leaflets dropped and the 2 that ring really want a W/C, alot of people that answer the door feel pressured that they say yes  this happened to a friend of ours.IMO thats not really fair and they will probably quit quicker (if you door knock your really no different to a door to door salesman and from what i find people hate them)i want to be doing the job because the customer wants me there, not that ive pushed myself there, but the choice is yours either way will get you customers.

Im imagining that the people who are saying knocking is no good, never did much of it, most of my best work is canvassed!

Leafletting needs to be done methodically, and on a decent scale to bring good results i find, but it all depends on your cirmcumstances and the area you 're targetting

honestly it beggars believe sometimes!!there was no internet when i started up in 1993 to ask "whats the best way of getting customers?"

canvass every week for 6 months 4-8pm evenings/10am-5pm saturdays.

knock on door and ask" do they want a good reliable window cleaner"if no move on  to the next house, if yes give them a price/frequency/payment methods etc.SIMPLE!!

you might want to get some business cards printed up to hand out to potential customers.you could try leaflets but you will have to drop a hell of a lot to even get 10 customers!!

much better to canvass!!also dont take any notice of the signs people have on the doors saying "no canvassers!!".just knock on anyway!!! :P ;D ;D

having a sign written van and putting a leaflet/business postcard in the local shop/garage should help as well.the local parish magazine could be an idea.

most of my new customers come from word of mouth and recommendation with the odd one from my van and card in local garage!! ;) ;D ;D

hope this helps!!

ICWALKER:

Are you sudbury based? Just asking, because the whole area was canvassed last year. September time.
