Title: Anyone else have probs with their van ??
Post by: Matthew JN on February 02, 2011, 09:26:05 pm
Hi

Has anyone else had probs with their diesel van due to short journeys and stop start driving ?  Was told by my garage to give the van a good thrashing every now and then to clean out the carbon / soot deposits.
Its a combo 1.7Cdti 100ps model.

Coming back to the original post. No diesels appreciate short journeys and ones with sensors and engine management systems probably like them least of all.

a lot of vans are hossed about in the early years.  with a bit of research you can normally avoid buying one of those -theres no hurry to take the first van you see .

Bought my van off flebay 4 years ago. It was an ex-rental van with 77,000 on clock. Its had two full services since but only things I've ever had to buy for it is usual things like tyres, exhaust parts etc.
Its a Ford Connect by the way.
