Hi all, going to be starting up in the next few weeks and just wondered if anyone can recommend a decent portable HWE for carpet & upholstery? There are so many to choose from!!
My budget is £2500+vat. Cheers.

What on earth you spending all that money for? You can pick up a decent second hand portable off Ebay.

Even these two examples seem expensive. I would try and find something for about 500-750 quid.
Seriously mate DO NOT waste all your money a new machine to start off. Buy second hand. The money will be better spent on marketing. If you have no work a new machine is a waste of money andd space.

Hi Gareth,
I have an Ashbys Ninja for sale 2 x3 stage vacumes and a booster vacume so three in total. 3 kw heater and 400 psi.
Also a nearly new Mytee speedster 1003 dx 2 x 3stage with inline heater built in. 2" outlet
Not sure if any of these are of any use to you?

If you can afford it invest in a good new machine, especially if you are not capable of repairing the thing in the first place. Your appearance and the way you go about things will dictate the type of customer and market you get.
I started off with second hand equipment and if I had spent the time that I wasted repairing equipment, on productive things like marketing and promoting my business I would have been a lot better off.
A lot of people on this forum moan about not getting this type of work or that type of work, in truth if people do not think you are up to the job they will not ask you to do it.
Invest in your business and look as proffessional as you can afford to look this will give people the confidence to trust you to look after their pride and joys.
One of the best investments that you will ever make is choosing the right training.
good luck
Peter
