Why such a big contradiction ?
when a newbie comes on here asking for advice we all ( well quite a few of us ) welcomes him/her to the forum and we all pass on our experience and advice to be of help, after all we all had to start somewhere and we know just how much any advice we got we were so glad of.
So why then are there so many contradicting posts of w/cs complaining of newbies starting up in their area's and newbies leafleting in my area's.
Apart from a couple of horrid w/cs I know who I would rather cross the road than say hello to, I will make it my business to say hello to every w/c I come across and if they are a newbies I always offer any help and advice.
Ive had newbies canvass my customers a few times and there's nothing wrong with that at all, if I lose a customer then so be it.
my work ethic is to provide the best possible service to my customers and yes I drop a few every year but the feedback from most of my customers is very good so thats all I can do.
I never worry about losing work as I have better things to worry about in fact helping a newbie out with advice can be invalueable especially giving good advice on pricing and as life throws up what goes round comes round.
so hello to all newbies and welcome to the forum and and best advice ever is ENJOY WHAT YOU DO and even when starting out it can be very tough, with dedication and determination you can make it a big big success.

Good post mate. Another point that needs making though is, if new guys are really interested in getting the best possible start, then surely it's better to point them in the right direction. There are some great sites out there that get all a new guy needs to know accross. Such as this one.
http://www.windowcleaningcoach.com/KeepingtrackofRound.html
Some new guys come on saying they want to get started and ask loads of questions but haven't got the motivation to bother to look for other places for information.
That can lead to a case of the blind leading the blind on here. I've seen alot of crap guesswork advice given out by members who have only been WCing for a few weeks!!! One recent case was the plonker who had a signed van and 2 weeks on the job with 4 custies!! Gave really great tips to new people. ::)
You couldn't make it up.
Anyway, welcome to all you new guys. Just stay away from Germany, that's MY PATCH!!!! ;D ;D ;D

at last someone with sense we all had to start on this windy journey and apart from a few numptys there are a decent bunch here to give sound advice to the newstarts cheers for bfg for bringing this thread up

my advice to bfg is dnt come on here if you cant handle the posts from some
-
Giving advice on here is one thing, educating the opposition in areas you work makes no business sense whatsoever.
