Title: Carpet tiles
Post by: David Staneland on January 30, 2011, 05:07:26 pm
Hi all Been carpet cleaning for a short while with hot extraction / Prochem chem's and been asked to clean an office with 4000 sq/m of carpet tile. Not something I was expecting but want to attempt. Would appreciate advice on best Prochem chemical and suitable machine to use. I may be able to hire and later buy for this work. Cheers Dave.

Hi Mr Stainland,

What PROCHEM equipment and chemicals do you use at the moment?

Hi David a few questions if i may

What machine do you use?

How bad is the soiling to the tiles?

What's the access like?

What sort of time frame do you have to clean 4,000sqm?

Are you a single operator?

How many SQM an hour do you expect to acheive?

4000sqm That's a lot of carpet to take on if you have been cleaning for a short while

I'm sure Monte would do a great job but a more local cleaner could be a better option as you could use him/her for on going work together until you have finished your apprenticeship, Southall is in London so someone like Pete Sweeney could give a great training introduction and he's wise enough to know what you want and keep at an arms length from your client as he is used to subcontracting.

David if you need assistance on the quote give me a call.  I do a lot of commercials,
with a tm/portables and a heated bonnet system. Only 15mins from southall.

Thanks for all replies. Seen job - Don't know where they got 4000 sq/m from closer to 280 sq/m. Large office area, 6 small rooms, top landing, 1 staircase and small bottom entry passage. Would be happy using what I have except had heard better to use dry cleaning system i.e Host, etc to avoid issues with tiles. Any thoughts.
