Hi All
I have thinking about this for a while now and would like some feed back on my idea,
During the month of may we have an agricultural show where over the four days there are 160k people who visit,
If I was to book a stand at the show and take the details of people who would be interested in either window cleaning / gutter and facia conservatory roof cleaning do you think this would be a good idea?
Now here are the benefits
1 generating new leads
2 getting window cleaners in all the areas to buy the new leads in their areas/ this would offset the cost of the show to me
3 prompting face to face
4 relatively small outlay for the chance to promote all three sides to my business
5 would be hitting both domestic and commercial customers in one hit
Feed back guys, I can only see the good in this, what would be the down sides?
I have done some supermarket promotions in the past with very good results but this would be on a lot larger scale.

I say "why not"?
Anything is worth a go.
Being an agricultural show, could you tie in anything to do with agricultural buildings etc?
If you say the exhibition space isn't too dear.......
Is it a well known show?

Hi Kate
Its the royal bath and west show at shepton mallet biggest show in somerset ;D

Anything that promotes yourself and/or generates leads can only be a good thing. But how does face to face and promoting your business tie in with selling the leads to other companies/cleaners? Doesn't that sort of negate the benefits of face to face and promoting yourself? In effect you are just promoting cleaning by anyone? Or is it just "carefully selected partners who we work with" !! ;D

Go for it I say, you have a captive audience.......
I think its an avenue definately worth exploring.
You say its not too expensive....
Is there any other thoughts/ideas with regards to pre planning?
I do agree with Mike, that emphasis should be of course on promoting yourself, but you may get leads that are not in your area, think probably you would have to devise a way of dealing with those.

I was thinking of pictures of the other cleaning business that come on board sort of like a portfolio local guys in your area thing may even invite them to do a stint on the stand ?
-
on your stand you could be squeegeeing a dirty specimen window constantly all day, thatd draw them in . have a car battery powering up strips of tiny lights around the windows frame . these could flash as you talk ,voice activated

might have to have some sort of Competition may be a give away or something ?
-
Yes Andy you could do that, a competition.
If you want to PM me can go into further details on that side of things.
-
thanks kate will do that
is it something you know a lot about ?
-
Nah not really Andy, just bits and pieces picked up over the years, in ad sales and telemarketing. Come across a few incentive ideas thats all.

If I claim to be an expert and get no results, all and sundry would be knocking on my door about not getting what they want. But I can try and help. For this kind of event, I think its a good idea that your doing, I was just going to chuck a couple of ideas into it really. No expert by far.

Go for it. As long as its not to expensive to stand there. Get some banners made up cheaply. What have you got to lose, apart from a few quid for your pitch.
