Title: airlocks ?

is it possible to get an airlock inside yr pump ?
i have had major dramas today..
2 experienced wfp,s totally baffled..

How is your hose connected to your pump, Hosepipe fittings or direct with jubilee clips?

direct with jubilee clips but even when hose was taken of one end there was no sign of water all though the pump was working....

i took off hose at the reel and had to suck until all the air was out

How about where its connected to your tank, how is it connected?

The only way you get air in your system is through air intake, loose hose.

Have you tried sucking the hose pipe?

when i disconnected from pump and allowed hose to go below tank level the water flowed fine...

The other problem i had was a split rubber diaphram/ flojet pump,

also on my sureflo pump debris from the tank, which can easily been cleaned out by undoing the screws in top

of the pump & taking it apart, don't worry there very basic!

It will flow fine, what you need to remember is pumps are powerful & it only take a pin sized hole & you have
problems. Make sure that all connections including take fittings are jubilee clipped.

to cut a long story short we disconnected reel end of pump and lowered pump to bottom of tank level and we got a flow of water so put everything back together and in place and same problem occurred...so we repeated the procedure again and seems to be back to to normal.. touch wood...

btw my pump is placed 15in above tank...

Thats because the water has know resistance, gravity on its side!

but when you draw water up then that allows air to get in the air leek.

The leek is on the intake from take side from what you have explained.
