Hi Guys,
On the same topic. I have been asked to give a price for jet washing on a retail unit roof. Box profile roofing approx 2800sq. mts to include gutter cleaning. Eves about 5mts, so was thinking of a scissor lift hire, already have the jet wash equipment. Not really very dirty so it is just a general clean down, quite a number of them to do though if i can get the first one. Not my normal area of work, any ideas on price would be helpful please,
Regards,
Ron

I'll help ! Place ladder firmly against wall, climb ladder and tie boot lace firmly near top, aim pressure washer at dirty bit and close your eyes - do I need to continue ? I love these roof washing threads ::)

I have always thought that this forum was worth its weight in Gold for the invaluable help provided to people. Sadly I must now review that thought. The replies that have been posted are not only drivel, they are insulting drivel. My post was a genuine request for some information however in particular John's reply was arrogant & insulting. My only response to this type of post is "up yours" if you think this is a method of help & communication

So ok - you want to be serious :o What exactly do you need to know ? Do you want me to write your RA & MS ? What do you have ? Do you have a photo ? Are there certified harness eyes on the roof ? Do you have a tested harness ? if you ask a specific question you may get a serious reply and I'm sorry you have no sense of humour and find some replies insulting. Anyway you have a very nice weekend and maybe you'll be happy on Monday ;D

hi ron i thought your posting was very arrogant & insulting to professional flat surface washers my fsc roofing tool probably cost more than your entire jet washing kit cost h&s can watch me work allday can you say the same? i am not going to say to you "up yours" but i will say if the ten gallon stetson "fits! wear it"

It is important to know that detergents are for cleaning grime, grease and dirt while bleach is used for cleaning mildew and mold. Detergents are usually sucked up by the machine and automatically premix it with the water in 1 to 5 or 1 to 7 parts proportions before dispensing.

Hi Richy,
Thanks for reply, seems 2b the mood they were in. Having contacted the client it seems that some roofs have anchor points & some don't. It would seem that the best way is 2 use a long reach boom & harness on the platform. Really what I was looking for was some idea of a price per sq. mtr. Any help is much appreciated, the other option is 2 sub it & if there are a number of the jobs going that would not be the most profitable option,
Cheers,
Ron

for jet washing a roof down that is twice the size of a 4 bed detached house i would expect it to b 160 metre squared, depending on how covered the roof is id imagine a price of around £8-10 per metre square this would bring in a total £1600 which up to you you could take the cost of a cherry picker out and do the job safely or maybe get the job scaffed out

Thanks Richy.
Got a quote for a long reach boom at about £450 per day & an agreed price of £35ph for jet washing with client so will work from there, keepin ur figures in mind
