Hi,
Have just finished this builders clean. I now & again get a call from a lady who does builders cleaning with a couple of part time staff. This job I quoted at £360.00 in @ out based on another similiar I cleaned back in the summer for her.
She came back to me saying that this time all the trades people were being squeezed on prices by the builder @ could I clean just the outside as she would do the ins as her budget had been squeezed. As she is a good customer who is straight as a dye I offered to clean in out for £300.00
The job was a very easy clean with just dust on the windows with the odd plaster blob on some & stickers. It took me 13 hours .
Both sides are georgian panes with 4 top floor velux.
I Find that washed out brillo pads are ideal for this type of work for the odd mark & scraper for stickers.
I welcome your price for this job. TRADITIONAL

is that your red van if it is what are they like ?
-
in and out builders clean of windows only i would charge about £180 + vat, if i was you i would definately stop using brillow pads you have been very lucky not to scratch the glass.
-
I thought you'd quoted £300 ???
Why do you need more quotes ???
Already looks like you've been undercut by the last poster :)

Hi,
Trevor, brillo pads are 0000 grade, they do not scratch glass. Ihave tested them on my own windows.

your better off getting domestic work, you will earn much more than that.
-
300 isnt that great for 13 hours of graft. using wfp on domestic in 13 hours you could nearly double that with the right work. any way if you used wfp for this job it would have taken half the time id imagine if was that easy to clean like you said.
Good price though id have quoted much less for that job. you was lucky to get it.

??
you just told him he should earn more, then said you would price it lower?
haha
sounds about right to me pal, good job well done. Those kind of jobs im either well under price and regret taking it on, or am well over and never get it! shame you had to shave some off price as it would of been about perfect! still £300 for 13 hours work is not too shabby

not at all. i said id want more for working 13 hours than 300. that job doesnt look like it would take anywhere near 13 hours wfp. and yes id quote less for that job and prob would get 5 or 6 done in 13 hours wfp so yea id want more in 13 hours and i would quote less.

windolene - are you happy with £300 for 13hrs? If you are then you gave the right price.
If he was to work all week at this rate of pay he'd be on about £900 a week.
Self employed 46 week year = £41 400 pre tax
thats not half bad.
