With 5. i use hwe to do the risers, a bit tricky to do them right but you'll get the hang of it.
I use different pre sprays and rinses but dont see anything wrong with the above method
Also, remember to have a towel handy to wipe the skirting boards! ;)

Ya, I use a prochem upholstery tool. Great for doing the nooks n grannies. I cant seem to get a hang of the mini me, chunky wands that you get that are ment for stairs.

Thanks Gents

i clean the noses at 45 degrees. They may look dirty cos the carpet is stretched over the nose, thus seeing right down to the backing.

I've got a Sarah for stairs, bit slow but a really good job.
-
The half size wand thingy, I found leaves more water bin the carpet, been using the swivel heabd version.
I am considering going back to the hand tool,
Even though it's slow as old boots, it does suck more water out of carpet.

I have an Elaine. She does a dam fine job ... as I watch ;D

I can't bear to watch, I go and have a fAg or find something to tinker with.

Slow eh? Well at least it gives you time to satisfy your tinkering needs! :P

I got one of the Prochem hand tools too,but found it awkward having to change hands, due to the way the connector sticks out at an angle,so I have gone back to using the upholstery tool,I also use a stiff bristle brush, and find I get really good results on stairs
