Title: swapped from brodex pole to gardiner ...wow
Post by: chez on January 22, 2011, 02:55:36 pm
Hey all.
Have been using a brodex 36ft alloy pole for a while for blocks of flats etc, and because I am only 5ft 4 tall what a pain to extend it fully - 6ft 11 when collapsed... killer. So I invested in a gardiner 40ft super max this week. Twice the price but what a difference in handling, 1/2 the weight, a foot shorter when fully collapsed. Congratulaions to gardiners for making high reach window cleaning less stressfull on the body and best of all I am probably a 1/3 quicker using this pole!!! I would recommend this pole if you need up to 40ft and are ummmm ......vertically challenged like me!! ;D well done Gardiners

Yep, that's the one piece of equipment that has the biggest impact on your work! Well, the brush too. I'm into Gardiner's Xtreme brush at the mo', I'm sure it's filled with helium! ;D

Look forward to a lighter, easier working life. ;)

I use Brodex poles as the are handed over to employees and are reasonably durable and come with a (ahem) 3 year warranty.

Would you trust someone else with your £500 pole?

Would you happen to have a guide to using them 6 foot plus poles, i.e how to erect them?

You place the end against a kerb/wall/stump and walk it up once you have extended to the height you need. I have a 60ft pole which is @ 10ft collapsed. Takes a bit of practice but if there is enough room around the building you are cleaning it's not to bad.
