Generally the lads who live in the south , seem to be able to charge higher prices than us in the north,
but does it balance out?
Are things generally more expensive in the south?...i know property .
How much is a litre of diesel for example.?.... its around £1.29-£1.32 up here
-
litre of diesel about the same , pint of guiness £3.70 ! regards alan
-
Same south. But beer is cheaper down here tho. Food same. It's just the women that cost more down here. Chips n deep fried mars bars don't cut it with these posh lasses lol

I disagree. Totally. Beer is cheaper if you know where to go. Fuel is the same. I've never seen Guiness at £3.70.
-
yes its more down here to have your windows cleaned but people up north have their windows cleaned more than in the south, I know w/cs up north who clean every 2 weeks where as down here the best you can hope for is 4 weekly

when I left scotland in 1989 and went to London I went from 35 quid a week to £300, even tradesmen were only on £4 an hour, when I went back to Scotland in 91 I was on £120 a week :'(
-
so in 2 years wages in Scotland saw a dramatic increase.

Yes indeed, ventured up to Liverpool this summer, no cheaper up there. Newcastle is cheaper for eating out but apart from housing the north/south divide is a myth. Same shops same prices
