Hi dave use a greenhouse heater put it on a a setting where it will come on if the temp drops to 4c should keep it from freezing

I just wrap the system up in a couple of old thick blanket and put a oil fill rad in.
Has worked well for me i got caught out with the freeze before xmas, cracked sediment housing and pump strainer :(

todays problem is pipes freezing up when on ground and pole frezzing when extended

Had this problem today. Main hose must have had ice in it somewhere. Couldn't get the water through at a high enough pressure. Decided to put hose reel by exhaust of van to warm it up............not a good idea!! Strange today though, as I have worked in a lot lower temperatures previously.

Just put an oil filled radiator in the van overnight on a low setting, ... cheap as chips... lovely and warm in the morning.
