Anyone here dry clean (host, dry fusion, texatherm) residential carpets on a regular basis. How do you deal with spots and stains?
Ive two cleaners near me who advertise 30mins dry time or no dry time and I often wonder do they actually use these systems all the time or when they arrive they tell the customer they need hwe because of...........................
Just wondering.

It is all I do , any stain that will not remove immediately will normally come out wiith OJ if oil based or sod met.

Lots of guys are doing this because...
They have little outlay, they can charge low prices, they have little experience, but they know they are more likely to fck up with lots of water and most people don't know a good end result when they see it.

mark..cleaning a customers house before xmas(window cleaning)
carpet cleaner turns up and started cleaning house ..he was telling customers to keep windows open and it would 2-3 hours to dry or maybe abit longer depending on other factors..customer say your advertising says dry in 30 minutes..carpet cleaner says we cant use that machine on your carpets...and thats other side of b-fast ....still got that ninja ;D with no exhaust

I find applying lots of pre-spray to the stain then bonneting it deep into the carpet pile works just as well as actually removing it.
or if i can be bothered I get the spotting machine out of the van and extract it out
-
Dry cleaning sells itself, dry in 30 mins, no shrinkage etc etc not sure about no or little training, I think to get the best results you need to know how to use it to the best of its ability there is a knack to it.

Mike those cotton bonnet we had were the best marketing tool ever for LM and IMO it did extract the soil out, not sure about stain work though.

How do you deal with 100% wool loop carpets and draught staining as thats what I was cleaning today.
thanks

Just saw the course and fancied a top up on knowledge, not free though.
Shaun

Mark did you get the draft marks out with HWE?
Shaun
-
Yea but they where not real bad just needed a good flush and some ultrapac.
Im open to a dry system but dont fancy trailing a spotting machine in too.
May try it tomorrow on a few rentals as a challange.

Draught marks are done by hand .
wool Loop pile no problem , just clean as normal .
As more and mor work becomes EOT it is mainly the stains/ traffic lane marks they want removing ,, and that is a doddle with LM
-
I wish someone could bring out decent spotting agents that don't need rinsing if they did then I believe LM would become the norm like in the US.

If i put a pea sized amount of OJ on a small oily mark , which it removes , that pea sized blob will be spread over the entire carpet, some will remain on the pad , no need to rinse that.

Years ago when I worked for someone we used to pre spray with the pre spray of the day (not sure which one) then we would rotary drifoam shampoo the end results was very good and as I remember quick drying.
I'd love to move over to LM but I'm still in love with my TM coochee coo

Which OJ you using?

Shaun, I`ve a diamond finisher I could sell you, but I don`t want a truckmount, a normal cimex would be nice. TM`s are sooo last year. Have you tried JK`s surround encap spotter?
-
So Jason how do you clean and with what chems and equipment. You can email me if you prefer.
thanks
