this morning my jets froze while i had a quick brew at a custies house!ice on the end of brush!first time its happened to me!i didnt think it was that cold as well!!anyway got started again by closing the pole and leaving the pump on.it eventually cleared the blockage after a few mins.
im sure it was the jets but could it easily have been the hose?i use 5mm microbore both as pole hose and extension hose for my trolley system.the hose was not lying on frosted ground it was wrapped round the trolley.
any advice guys?

don't leave the pole out when having a brew ;) or turn down the brew. ;)

hi dazmond bet you left it in a north facing shaded area temp round a house can vary +/- 5/6 degres round a house

ask her for some boiling water from kettle.

When you start setting up at the job always look out for the customers cenral heating outlet, lean your pole against it and it will defrost almost immeidiatley if its blowing, and whenever you stop using your brush ie to load the van up lean it back on, or take a flask full of boiling water.

I trick I to have to use for the same reason .I disconnect the pole hose and allow the water to bleed out of the pole hose by standing the pole up against the wall.If you have a valve on the pole hose open this as well.

Blow your pole hose out when not in use.
Carry a lidded bucket of hot water.

Going slightly off topic, best way to unblock a jet is to put your finger over the good one untill water comes out of the blocked one. Simple.

Urine can work well too. Many a frozen car lock had this treatment.

ive been draining my pole hoses at night now, saves me brining them in,
i have had my jets freezing up in the past, but i keep a portable cooker and kettle with me now in case.
-
I had the problem that by the time i cleaned the back of the house, when i got to the front it froze!
Tried everything, its a fact that when its to cold you can't stop water freezing.
Just go home & try another day.

I was on a mission, the jets i drilled out bigger on a old brush, fitted thicker hose from the Y piece to jets & faster flow rate, it was so bad that a customer told me to go home! >:(

A good one for the next "whats the strangest complaint you have ever had " topic. Customer phoned up to say her windows stink of p*ss.
Nature's supply of warm water, ideal for unblocking frozen jets but not much good if you are standing outside a block of flats at school time with all the kids and their mums going by.
Then you can use some hot coffee from your flask.
