Morning every1
Brand new to the forum so this is my first post!
Been working the traditional way for about 6 months or so now but business shot up in the last 3 weeks after some leaflet delivering.
Is it normal that my main squeegeeing/wiping elbow hurts like nobodies business??
Bit like a tennis elbow type pain??
How long will this go on for if I carry being busy??
Thanks in advance

Went to the doctor the other day:
Doctor: Hi, I haven't seen you in ages
Me: I know I've been ill
Sorry, I'll get my coat.........
-
Thats nothing,I went to the doctors the other day with with a lettuce sticking out of my arse....
I said "is it serious Doc?"
And he said... " well, its just the tip of the iceberg"
;D

Dude. Buy some cod liver oil with glucosamine. It'll be sorted in four weeks. Guarantee it x

Lee, get yourself to the docs, mate. It could be something very simple. I suffered with a really painful shoulder for months because I was unwilling to go to the docs; I thought it was bad because the pain was crippling (though it was fine for normal pole work).
Anyway, the doc pulled my shoulder about, said it was nowt serious, prescribed me some anti inflammatory tablets (Naproxen) and it's great.

I'm trying to work out if you mean that his elbow will be OK or the other fella will be able to unload his lettuce ;D

Although a cortisone injection would probably resolve it for now, they don't like giving these and usually restrict it to 2 or 3 on the same place due to medical reasons.
If it is tennis elbow, there is an exercise that helps with it and can resolve it for a long time. Describing it in words is very difficult on here.
Go to www.youtube.com, type in tennis elbow exercise and see what comes up. Certainly better than going straight into cortisone jabs. Save them for later in case you need them badly another time.
I sympathise. I had such problems about a year after switching to WFP. An acupuncturist showed me an exercise that did sort it out after a while. I switched to a lighter pole and it's been OK since.

Had the same problem doing trad tennis elbow in right arm switch over to left arm to rest the right seem to help. All my work is wfp these days now my neck hurts

I know it sounds expensive but try and get the wfps its great for this. You can pick one up for a start up business for £800. But well worth it.

Try a wagtail flipper from window cleaning warehouse ;)

I used to suffer from the same about 15 years ago.
It was caused by having to much water in the bucket. believe it or not.
I was contract cleaning loads of banks, building societies, Powerhouses etc etc so I was doing a fair bit of walking around different high streets, shopping centres with my bucket.
As soon as I put a lot less water in, the pain disappeared overnight more or less.

Sorry to hear about your elbow mate. I had the same kind of pain once but an elasticated elbow support sorted it.
NOW, the first thing a trad cleaner must learn, is to be able to do the job with either hand equally, If you don't you will have to make a lot of unnecessary ladder climbs.
-
lee ignore the medical quacks.im sorry to tell you ITS OVER, time to go WFP OR sell to me ;D ;D

Do you use your washer with the other hand?
I have found that using a smaller washer helps and that too much unnecessary fanning can contribute to wrist and elbow strain.
Also using a smaller squeegee may help.

I clean the traditional way i dont get any trouble with my elbow but do get some with my shoulder, but i just go to my left hand instead.I also have done gardening work aswell for many years and over the years i have had some rough old machinary 40/50 pulls to start thats what i put it down to, i now have Honda/Stihl 2/3 pulls at most, but i always pull them with my left arm now, save my right for the windows.
