Hi guys,
When i was window cleaning today i thought about a lighter pole.
Then i thought would it be be any lighter or is it what you get used to?
What i mean is i used to use a fibreglass pole until i discovered the harris pole which i thought wow this is light!
then i got used to the weight & after they kept wearing out i bought a brodex pole that i thought was heavy but
now got used to the weight!
Are lighter poles makeing us into weaklings?
Whats your thoughts guys.

Treat yourself to a Gardiner SLX, you'll be blown away by it! especially with what you've been using. ;D
But yes, you do get used to things but once you go "light" there's no going back. I now use the Gardiner "Xtreme" brush, it makes their superlites (which are superb & light) feel like bricks! :D

iv had a few poles you do get used to thewm after a while still prefer a harris though me missus is nagging for a slx looks like a have to part with th cash wheres the best place to get a slx pole seem some companys do it and some dont

The only thing i like about the brodex being a alu pole is the strength, i think that a lighter pole won't last so long & the material Glass/carbon will wear Quicker on the clamps & be prone to knocks.

Like i said lighter poles are makeing us into weaklings, thats why old poles feel heavy, when in reality were not so fit :D

no lighter poles are less stress on your body meaning you can work faster and longer meaning improved income.

I'm just waiting for Gardiners to bring out a pole filled with helium,... :)
-
thing is when there too light you tend to have to press more on higher windows.
-
If the pole is lighter all you need to do is set the pole higher and stand further back using the pole and brush weight against the glass. Its easer on the body and better control of the brush on the glass. 8)

my shoulders and upper arms are building up nicely!9 months wfp and i use a 22 slx for a lot of my work and im certainly getting some muscles up top!! ;) ;D ;D
lighter poles are a must esp if you got a lot of windows above conservatories or over flat roofs as i think this is where you can over strain yourself with a heavy pole resulting sometimes in serious injury!
we all gotta be careful with our shoulder/neck muscles IMO.
