Ideally, I'd like a system which provides text notifications when someone doesn't log in or out and I'd like to capture iweekly data by USB pickup for wage processing.
I'm using a web based provider just now to monitor staff attendance but it's not good for real time notifications unless I have someone constantly at the computer. What's the best way of doing this in your experience?

Have a look at www.iqtimecard.uniqueiq.co.uk or call me on 08707668446.
We have a text alert system for no shows and can filter data into sage.

It amazes me that all you companies have a COST SAVING CALCULATOR.
Why not have an actual
"What is it going to cost me calculator each month"
Then there is a set up fee then the cost of the 0800 number line rental and what ever else on top like per user or per site billing and only a few companies will help small companies with the cost.

Hi Pristine,
What system are you currently using? Do you mean they log on via a mobile device, and you can see via the computer at home? Cloud computing?
-
We use a system where they call from the clients telephone system. By dialing an 0800 number - then they enter a pin. and choose login or log out.
We can use our home computers or the Offices computers so good all round or a smart phone.
As for Sage Accounts apart from a very few (minority) I doubt many on here will actually use Sage due to its price tag unless they have an unlawful copy.

I agree about all the add ons why can't they just tell you the cost
Wee bit surprised at you Pristine as your comments are normally well balanced and fair yet you suggest cleaning companies either cannot afford the cost of Sage or they ignore the law and buyor use a counterfeit copy
We bought Sage in our second year and back then the package cost £1200 even now I look back and think what else we could have spent the money on but I stll would have bought Sage it is so much more than just a payroll tool
We too fancy a log on system where the info is collected and passed on to us through payroll especially as our accountants also use Sage. But try calling for a price and all you get is hounded by phone calls and cold calling reps wanting you to sign 18 and 24 mth contracts, isn't there anyone out there who just wants a bit business without the hard sell "add-ons"?
-
not sure what the differences are but we use sage instant accounts which cost around £85 from amazon iirc, and then payroo.com for payroll which is currently free as we are fairly small. what are people getting in the £1200 one that isn't in the £85 version?

Sorry Gordon.
That comes from experience. I use to do (still do now and then) I.T. support & programming. I visited a few companies including cleaning companies and you will be surprised just how many do not have a genuine copy. You will notice I said the minority will have Sage.
Yes GCS there are many different versions and what will happen is it wont connect to a small systems of sage like Instant Accounts, Or even a free one for invoicing. But the differences vary considerably to multi-user licence, stock control, the list goes on.
And you right its a hard sell. Long contract. 24 months. Setup fee is about £200 - 400 pounds. Then the 0800 and then the line rental and either per site or user billing.
If you are a small company say 5 cleaners you will be looking at around £45.00 per month cost - Annual cost of £1080. Obviously if you have say 20 - 50 staff well you will be paying a lot more.
We have some sites where there are no phones so have an alternative system with GPRS logon with a mobile - give location.

I totally understand your frustrations with all the different providers for an attendance recording system and the lack of a straight answer regarding pricing issues. As a smaller company ourselves we aim to be able to help small businesses to have the same access to these type of systems but without the high fees sometimes involved. We therefore charge at between £3 and £5 plus vat per employee per month (dependent on numbers), but we dont charge any additions for 0800 numbers, text alerts or system upgrades. We have a one off set up fee of £175 plus vat (again negotiable if we are looking at smaller numbers) and then the only further additions are down to personal choice, for example we can offer software to import information into sage, security keys and pda's.
We hope to offer our product as a help in any business who genuinely need a cost effective time-attendance system, but without the hard sell and constantly annoying phone calls. My only sales pitch to you would be to say if you're interested then take a look at www.iqtimecard.uniqueiq.co.uk or email me at bev@uniqueiq.co.uk.
Hope this helps.
Bev.

Hi Bev,
So my estimation on costs was about right then.
So,
What would be the cost for
2 x employees.
At 5 separate sites.
Including set up fee. And what is the contractual term?
Email sent
Cheers
Dave
