Title: small treble ladder
Post by: lee_dewing on January 16, 2011, 10:29:38 pm
Hi all.

I  am wfp, but looking for new ladder, my current 6.1 metre double ladder is a bit worn out now.

Would like a small treble, i.e same size as what i have or little bit smaller.

Couple of things, 1) would like ladder sections to seperate or at least one of three sections as want to use for getting over garden gates.

2) Also want ladder to be up to european standards, but don't want it weighing a ton.

any links please.
thanks lee

i absolutely rave about the abru triple 2metre (professional)7 rung, as i used it as my main for over a year full days trad ,no worries, and  folk say on here that ABRU IS FOR diy BUT not the pro model, its got a weight limit of 23 stones and although i prefer a double these days i still use the abru for climbing gates and its very light . i got mine in BnQ on special offer but theyre over a £100 now

one TRIPLE to avoid is the LYTE triple trade 3.0 metre. 10 rungs and  its as heavy as fook and i hate it . also its carelessly made with sharp edges on the fittings.

laddersuk on ebay, have a look see what you think they have loads of sizes i brought a 8.7 metre triple 2 months ago, dont use it much but its light enough for the size and very sturdy, good quality and cheap i thought, think it was £90 plus £20 postage they do trade and diy ladders

lee-yes thats the one

the only downside i ever found with that Abru triple is it flexes a bit when fully extend.also it catches the wind ///but i got used to it and really rate it . the bottom feet are rubber,so good  grip and its small enough to fit in a small hatch car . also if you look closely at the Abru rungs they have especially good grip surface, the alloy ridges  is sharply formed (whereas LYTE trade and LYTE domestic and the double Youngman that i use as my main have a slippier grip surface to the rungs)

when you unclip the Abru first section ,can use that as a small hop up ladder for downstairs .also the whole ladder is easy to carry vertical inside a house
