It is against the law to be drunk and disorderly when in charge of a ladder.
Although what you do in your own home behind closed doors is your own business  ;)

You're breaking the law using  a ladder if there is a "practicable" alternative.

Nothing has basically changed imo since 2005, dont want to get into a debate, especially with some of the forum members on here, this debate starts usually every January, so not getting involved again, especially with a user name like tradclean.

I thought you could marry a ladder in Scotland if it is 16 years of age or older. However you need parental consent if it is under 18 if I recall correctly.

Seriously - it is against the law to use a ladder:-

In a car (except when it is a pre 1996 Rover with the sunroof open)
Unless you are a doley on benefits
On Coronation Street (or any other part of Stan the Man's patch)

You may use a ladder in exceptional circumstances if:

It is on the side of a swimming pool, ship or submarine or a radio or television mast over 100 metres in height
When re-enacting Roman siege battle scenes (boiling oil now disallowed)
To climb up to Juliet's balcony or Rapunzel's tower.

I remember the good days when people posted a question and you got 75% good advice and 20% bit of banter and humour, and 5% pure lunatics. Nows it mostly the figures in reverse, and has gone the way of most forums,  with too much bitchy unhelpful comments, just goes to show what happens to the chavs watching too much Jeremy Kyle.
