Title: Metal Hose Reels
Post by: concept on January 15, 2011, 01:55:34 pm
1) Does anyone know who sells the grey and red reels? I have one but cant remember where it came from! Need a new spindle, and it's longer than my other reel!!

2) Purefreedom blue reel...I have gone through 3 spindles in recent months with the brass hose fitting seemingly always threading on the plastic end, so if it takes a knock, it falls off and wont screw on tight enough again, so leaks like mad. Anyone else had this? Are the reels compatible with the fitting, as it always seems very tight as if its being forced!

Please advise, as I am getting fed up of dismantling and re-assembling reels, really fed up!!

Might try that, cheers!

Oh to have a leak free system...absolutely does my head in seeing drips coming out the van, off the reel, off rectus fittings...

My blue pure freedom tipped over and ripped the brass hozelock connector off, stripping the threads in the process. I got a junior axe saw and cut of the stripped threads and then fitted one of those swivelling brass connectors to the remaining thread. Seems to have done the trick. Also this week I have turned the pressure down on my varistream and that makes a hell of a difference on the strain of hozelocks and jubilee clips etc, Thus stopping/reducing leaks.

I have used Hozelok reels & connectors for over 6 years. Mine are leak free & one of the reels is over 6 years old. ;)
