Title: Dog crap
Post by: davids3511 on January 13, 2011, 10:31:16 pm
Had an £18.00 25 minute job today. Good payers no problems. However, they have a dog crappy garden. They never seem to clean it up. Always a good weeks worth strew about.

Avoided it today or so I though. Couldn't do the skylights because where I stand was covered. If they ask why I will tell. On reeling my hose in you guess it. That smell, my hands were covered and it was up the inside of the pole. Was under time pressure at the moment and I swore never to do the job again. Now considering it is a well priced job and they pay on the button would you dump or keep?

Dump being the operative word.

What about using their hose to wash and scrape it off your boots?  Could taste nice in the summer when they're fooling about in the sunshine and they play with putting the hose in their mouths.

How about telling them? a lot of people just dont realise, not worth loosing a good custy if they dont even know there is a problem.

Sadly, their allegiance is likely to side with pooch not the low-down scumbag-chav window cleaner.  Trust me.  People value their animals more than humans.

Dump 'em.  Dirty gits.  Dog poo is a health hazard and getting covered in the stuff really spoils your day.

Once you see the yellow of patches on lawn... go the other way.

I have dropped customers in the past because of dog mess, several in fact.

Some houses seem to be unbearable, why do they let the dogs mess all over the patio? Other houses never a sign.

One house I dropped they didn't even have a dog but their front garden was an absolute quagmire, bit of a mystery that one.

I used to have exactly the same problem, didnt want to lose the job as it was a good payer.
In the end I wrote them a polite letter explaining the problem and the health issues involved, we came to an agreement that I would text them to let them know when I was in the area, they now keep it clean (for that week at least)

not sure why ,but that poop made by labradors that looks like gingerbread is the very worst

one "grain " of that in the tread of a shoe will stink to high heaven for weeks

Just to clarify, this customer knows in advance I am coming. I have to ring them the night before so they can leave the gate open. They are also aware it can be a problem because sometimes I turn up and they have put little plastic cones over the poop. Usually they don't have enough cones anyway.

That is another bonus of a hot system, you can get some anti-bacterial soap and give your hands a good wash.

I HATE THE MESS.

Went out last Saturday, weather was good and i was getting on really well.

Then! I could smell cat s*it! looked on my boot and there it was massive and runny! Oh and look its all over my ladder.
So i wiped off my ladder and destroyed the custys lawn trying to get it off my boots.

I was clam, i didn't go mental theses things happen.

Finished off my round and went home. Though i would wash off my ladder so i did.

Went to put the hose away BOOM! poop on the hose. Awesome! Cleaned it off and guess what, steeped in poop again on both my boots. One different poop on each boot!

Went mental, went inside and soaked for the rest of the day.

How much trouble will i get if i killed a cat?

I`ve actually seen a cat doing a poo and then it buried it in a hole that it had dug!
I was amazed.

We'd speak to them and explain the problem.  If they dont want to keep it clean, which is their choice, then we wont go there.  We'd ofer to clean the front windows only as a half way option.

That's the thing I hate worst about this job, dog/cat mess, especially since going wfp. The hose just takes the shortest route and slices through it.

People really are disgusting.  I'm amazed how some live, especially when you see a load of dog mess and then a toddlers trike about a foot away.

Unbelievable.

I've decided they either keep it clean or get another windy.

Even if they clear it away they can't clean the ground its been on so your hose still gets contaminated only you don't know.

Our local park is just a dogs toilet. We could never let the kids just go over there and play football when they were younger. Now the youngest is 15 and plays in a sunday league. Before every match they have to walk the pitch and clear up numerous loads of dogs mess. What sort of Moron lets their dog go on a football pitch.

I hate dog owners.

i leave the dog crap on the park;
that way all the teens drinking cider and chucking cans all over the place can roll about in it
last year one weekend i picked up 4 bags of bottles and the tots are as bad
next time you take your kids to the park take your litter home

I have a Villa player, garden full of dogpoop, but not right next to house, about 6ft away.

It pays £25 for about 20 mins  so I am careful and put up with it.  I would rather avoid the dog poop than the Rottweiler. At least he gets shut in the garage.

Just deleted 6 houses from my round as gardens full of dog s h 1 t ... shame as all together on the same council estate but had enough and got some new work in last 2 weeks to well cover these deletions.

Got a granchild on the way in May and thought of granchild crawling over floor that my dog poo covered boots had walked over  >:(  ... sure u can wipe it off boots but germs still prob there. .... now change boots in garage b4 going in house but still not doing these houses and crap payers as well and a few "leave it this times" so hasta la vista baby to them  ;D

I would try and carry on with it if its well paying. Give it time to improve, don'T FUSS THE JOB, i mean can they really be bothered how clean the windows are if they leave all that muck around!

just try and do the windows were there is no dog mess and when you go collecting explain that you are not charging full price as you could'nt clean all the windows due to dog mess in garden just point it out politely , done it in the past but lost the custy was not bothered as it proves they were lazy bar stewards and could'nt give a toss

u jumped up pompous prick, dont tar us all with the same brush!!!

im a responsible dog owner, they either crap in their run, or out in private farmland, where the public have no right of way.... AND it naturally de-composes
Title: Re: Dog crap

at least the majority of dog owners are responsible. unlike cat-owners, whom just let little felix out all day to crap everywhere, and kill the low-nesting birds!!!

if i let my dog do this, i would be fined for having a dog out of control & poaching!!!

a cat is classed as feral if its more than 30 meters (i think??) away from its owners property. Feral, this cat is then trated as a pest species.

and mark my words, if i see any of them trespassing in my garden, they'll be leaving in a bag.
