I have it on two computers. I paid an extra licence.

Computer one is an acer aspire 2920.Ten inch screen, very powerfull.

Computer two 17 macbook pro- that has to run a copy of windows.

I always worry about losing a laptop and losing my business.

WCP is stand alone anything you do on one computer will not be updated on the other  until you run
the back-up, so you could get a mis match in data.

compass 180 will/should change that  :-\

If the computers are connected to the Internet do they automatically sync or do you have to do this manually?

Yes. This is true.

I mainly use one computer and back up to memory sticks (more than one). Every now and again i bring the other computer up to date.

The idea is that you could take a laptop in the van and update as you go without fear of disaster if it gets nicked.Modern vans are great. The ducato has hidey holes for laptops and is a virtual office in a van.Unfortunatly my scudo (only a year old now) is rubbish in this respect.

It annoys me the time i spend at night working. With an inverter theres no reason why a van based business can't be just that.

Ans Sync manually.

Thanks for the info. Considering buying a laptop in addition to my main computer. I agree with the problem of admin in the evening.

Imagine.Your ten miles from home and decide to wait the rain out, this may be forty minutes. You have the lap top and a recent bank download. You update your list ,payments and reconcilliation from the bank.Add the details of the new customer you picked up, insert the gate code a custy gave you.All stuff i often overlook later.

Forty minutes later the rain has stopped, or if it hasn't you drive home anyway but at least you didn't waste the time.

My ideal is three men in a van, them cleaning me doing this plus chasing payment, new customers, etc.A better division of brains and brawn.I wish.

What you could do with regards to the backups is use an online backup service such as Dropbox or Sugarsync. These allow you to access files you backup from any PC you want. They're very straightforward to use too - far easier than mucking about with USB sticks.

As an aside if you have a Mac then I would suggest using Parallels to run WCP. It works flawlessly and means you don't have to faff about with Boot Camp.
