Hi Denise,

They are far more difficult to clean than you would imagine at first sight, imagine school changing rooms, but with a far higher quality thresehold!

They vary,

But briefly

clear litter first - You will be amazed at what you will find - normal rubbish, lost items coats, bra's, knickers, swimsuits its amazing what gets left behind.

Oh its a good idea to wear gloves!

Vacuum up - to collect hairs & debris

Then mop through. Obviously that's very basic.

The layout will also depend on how you will clean and what you use. If you are directly next t the swimming pools use a wet vac for safety.

Are you cleaning the actual lockers? if so some are basic metal, some are posh and wooden.

Then there is the general dusting of areas.

Will you be cleaning the showers and Saunas? Thats a little different and you have to use a chemical to wash away the body fats and hold back the mould in the showers especially in the non vented areas. It can get fairly hot. If you are cleaning these let me know - we clean plenty of leisure centres.

You may also be under a points system as well.

Are you not subbing this one?

A small tip when looking after floors in locker rooms, the floors are usually damp mopped which will in the end cause the gullys to dry up which allows the bad smells from the drains into the locker room. Just keep them topped up with some disinfectant as the are intended to be hosed down. I had this with a sports centre in Canterbury where they thought the drains were blocked.

Thanks

Bioshield Floral. Fairly good product.

Also with the showers Yes a pressure washer is ideal (Only need a small one like Karcher) You are not doing a driveway. Oh and does not need to need a hot steam one.

Then ones pressure washed we also clean the showers with soapy water with a window mop and squeegee. Gets them shining and also cleans the glass shower doors if any.

BDCS is right about the drains (Der! to me I totally forgot about them). You probably will need to either weekly or monthly need to lift the drain track and drain covers up and remove all the hair and scum.

One tip I will give check the grout fro stains and mould frequently. Also check the hardness of the grout. If it is soft you will be able to remove the grout with your finger nails and I would suggest you inform them and get them to re-grout with the correct grout for showers. Mould will and does come from the underneath - sometimes impossible to remove from the grout and sealant used. (needs replacing)

One other thing you might get is on the floors gets lots of lime scale totally mad. Get some stone cleaner. Also you might get plastic runner mats. You need a brush and a pressure washer for those.

Get yourself a floor squeegee paddle. That way you can push all the water into the drains.

depending on how big these showers are you might want to invest in a scrubber for wet areas. (Its will be required to maintain a high standard)

All the best

Dave
