hi, i wonder if anyone can help me,but how long is a reerse osmosis unit supposed to last for as i have only changed it once in 3 years, its just taking longer to fill the tank.

what do you mean by unit, if you mean the membranes then i would say the rule of thumb is look into changing them once a year and the filters between 3-6 months thats what i do but everyone is different and it also depends on how much water you are producing each week, but if its taking longer now to fill your tank then i would look into changing your filters and membranes.

If membranes freeze they die,.. even if the housing didn't crack, the membrane itself could have split.
It could also be your water pressure. The council turned my water pressure down after the ice thawed & all the pipes burst,.. my output TDS shot up & production rate halved.
