Hi,
I am getting fed up of the tap at the end of the reel which connects to the pole hose,... wearing away.
either the nut vanishes and you have to turn on/with plyers,
or on the black plastic ones, well the little stub lever simply snaps off.
anyone use a real heavy duty one ?

Gazza we use these http://www.cleaningspot.co.uk/acatalog/Microboe_fittings.html (ref 400 about 27th down)
Get about 6-8 months use out of them, if we looked after them maybe last longer!

Stuart, they are the ones i am using at the moment, .. think i need to carry spare nuts, as i am forever tightening it after losing a couple.
Thanks tho ;)

Ok Gazza, the nuts have never come of ours ??? only the red rubber handle protector thing ;D
How long do they last for you?

Put a blob of glue under the nut and tighten, you won't lose many then!

About a month lol

i have done that ... still work off ???
also using hydraulic air connectors for pole to reel.... they work loose too and pop apart on the ground....
god only knows how dangerous that could be if used with compressed air lines.
which is what most of these connectors are designed for.

will take a pic of ours in morning and show you what state they are in ;D with nuts ;D ;D

Gazza we found a solution to the nut problem, we now use wing nuts

Been down that road but now switched to triggers and ended all the hassles.

get an aqua-daptor!it doesnt suit everyone but its by far the best flow control on the market IMO for minimal hassle and smooth operation.less snagging and a joy to use.

I've got the pure freedom one which attaches to pole with a Velcro strap made for the purpose, it does a great job and have had it for 6 months with no problems. It comes with ready made bracket so it can sit on your pole and hose can be routed tidily through it ;D
-
i know what you mean about the losing the nut - it started really winding me up coz it kept falling off - then i had a brainwave... just put an elastic band round from one end of tap/handle , under/round the pole, then onto other end of tap handle.
no trouble now and cheap easy fix

For those losing the nuts from the taps. Just use a lock nut instead.
