At a customer's yesterday and she comes out to me holding her phone and says its for you. A bit suprised but I took it off her.
A lady's voice on the other end said "Hello I'm Tanya from XXXXX window cleaning, I just wondered whether you had a window cleaner and whether you would like us to give you a quote"
TELEPHONE CANVASSERS!
It was purely coincidence that I was there when they phoned. When they said have you got a window cleaner she assumed they were calling to talk to me and passed the phone over.
We don't want to start that old malarky. Customers getting phoned all the time and being asked about window cleaning.
I know how it works, its women working from home on a free daytime calls phone tarriff getting paid per lead . With the increase in availability of these sort of phone tarriffs, and the number of women looking for pin money jobs, is this something we are going to see more of?
I know in the States years ago my mate Jim used to get at least one call a week from people doing carpet cleaning promotions.
Anybody else come across it

That wasn't one of Kates girls calling was it??? ;)

:) Only commercial here, and never paid per lead.
To be honest Vince, I wouldnt think it was uncommon.

Well actually I just said no thanks and hung up which was really stupid of me because there were loads of questions I should have asked them. I didn't even get the name of the company. My excuse is I was caught off guard.
