Title: are you putting up prices this year ?
Post by: Window Washers on January 10, 2011, 07:56:38 pm
As it says are you putting up prices this year, I hear all the rubbish in the papers, and was wondering what everyone else is doing.

Feel free to add a post :)

have been thinking about it, but might wait until april and judge it then, i dont want to give people a reason to cancel or go 8 weekly, im pretty happy with 90% of the prices, so i may just put a few up that are well overdue.

@ Window Washers....we have been in the game 20 yrs now so put our prices many many times over the yrs, a bit to long in the tooth and experenced for being scared of customers reactions when they are faced with the prospect of their window cleaning cost goin up

I put not sure, only been going just over a year so feel it is too early for most, I am happy with most of my prices, I already put up some under priced work i had in Autumn. There are still odd ones which may get an increase if it starts to pee me off when doing them. I have not got a full round so I will just price new customers accordingly, i may even start adding extra for bi-monthly instead of monthly with the new ones.

??? ???I will put up my prices by +- 10% as this what my costs have in the last year and if you use business brain we all would go up if only to cover the cost of fuel and so many other must pay things.A good business man will use good business judgement without emotion at a time like this. Everything is going up get used to it,customers will aswell.

because of the current finacial state our country is in, lots of people are losing there jobs and struggling to make ends meet

it seems there is a shift in the trend about price rises.

Now is this because more business men/women are into window cleaning now or have people just got a little more savy  :-\

It means if you dont put your prices up each year you are effectively taking a pay cut.

I put mine up Oct last year no problems wanted to do it before the vat increase had no problems I ranged between 1 and 2.50 on residential and around 10 percent commercial.

not sure .

last increase was 2 years ago , put the whole round up approx 20% and only lost a habndfull + a couple change from 4 to 8 weeks .

obviously all new customers come in at a slightly higher price ( what new price would / will be ) .

im niether the cheapest or dearest , so for now , i think , correctly priced .

The question to ask is will I grow my business this year? Will I find new business and still have my expences go up even more? Am I happy earning less money. Do I live on an island ? Am not exposed to the same inflaction and much higher fuel cost just like others or was I overcharging so much in the last few years so I dont need an increase. Or am a spineless wimp to farefull of my customers and my costomers realy run my business.I only slave for them. ??? ???    YES I WILL DO WHAT`S GOOD FOR MY BUSINESS> ??? ??? ??? ;D ;D

ive been informing customers recently that as from the next clean, the price will be going up £1.
ive only been doing this to the customers that i think is slightly under charged.
 had no complaints yet.

not this year only had my round for a year some is a bit underpriced, new work is better priced,at the moment iv got 300 custys, 95%  that are done every 5 weeks takes me 4 days a week complete,iv picked quite a few up last year from about 3000 leaflets and people just seeing me and asking to do theres,so this year when iv got spare time il be leafleting again so im overfull this time next year then will be putting underpriced stuff up in april, thats the plan anyway
