Title: Heads up forum members
Post by: Graeme@Access on September 27, 2005, 09:30:13 am
Hi all,

Having read the forum on and off for a couple of weeks now, i thought i would write a wee note to introduce us to the members.  My mate of 20 years and I have decided to take the plunge and start a new cleaning company in Glasgow callled Access Cleaning Solutions.

So if you see anyone in a checked skirt waving a powermax in anger.... its prolly us.

All thats left to do is get some training, so were off to the NCCA course on fri/sat and i hope we can meet a few of you there.  :D

Cheers for the knowledge and banter

Thanks guys  :)

We are planning our marketing at the moment, and from what i have read on here (and ian just reminded me) it does seem to be the key to success.

I think our first years aim is to exist in the second year.  As we have neither experience nor reputation, i guess survival becomes our first goal.

Heres to hoping.

Greame, are you planning on specialising in providing solutions to areas with access problem? if not why call yourself 'Access Cleaning Solutions' I don't want to be rude but this name might look good on a business card but means nothing to a customer.

If you are going to offer lots of cleaning services then its ok but if you're just carpet cleaners, its a bit ambiguous.

I've always thought a name should say either; Who you are, what you do, where you're from  or what you specialise in.

 anything else is piontless.

just my opinion ;)

Hi Guys

I am starting up in Renfrewshire and I will also be at the NCCA course on Fri/Sat. Travelling down on Thur .  Are you's booked in to the NSPCC on Fri ? I had to book a Travel Lodge for the Thur night.

P.S. I'll have a Budweiser . lol

Indeed thats the case, so we thought a specialst name would pigeon hole us in the future.  I understand what your saying thought and i appreciate your advice ;-).  We had considered other names for the reasons you mentioned.  Besides, directory listing positions are important sometimes ;-).

@Tihson : Were drving down tonight and plan on crashing in the car for a few hours before it kicks off.  So we will be the couple of greasy looking tired folk in the corner.   Tartan army on tour ;-)

Pauls a great teacher and what makes him even better is that he will freely tell you about all the times hes screwed up ie. hes a normal guy like you and not some cleaning god that makes the rest of us feel inferior.   This will put your mind at rest especially during the class on upholstery cleaning :o
