I really hope your luck changes. One idea is to just focus on all the good things that happen rather than the bad.
Strangely we tend to attract what we think about the most. Also changing the way you see the results you don't want, rather than simply getting them off your chest has been proven a better way to be successful.

I cant really complain,Ive had quite a good run for the past 5 months since going full time.
I fully expected to hit a quiet time soonMy point is,I just get annoyed when I go to do a quote, arrange a date convenient for the customer and attend the appointment and they dont even answer the door or cancel a day beforer. Its just very bad manners.
The most annoying thing is I get cancelled because the customer gets a Vax for a present and thinks she'll get her carpets clean.
I would get a really bad name if I wasnt reliable.
-
I don't think that will ever change.
It's something you have to accept. Obviously if you can come up with ways to prevent something happening again in the future then be sure to act on that. For instance I never book in November, jobs for around Christmas without a deposit. I now never get to the last week of Christmas and curse people for no shows.
-
it will never change try to always rise above it give them the option to re-book or end the conversation in a polite manner. i used to get really pi**ed off with no shows and cancels but ave now just accepted this will happen from tme to time .
thi will be my third jan now and the " off season " is not as bad as it used to be just keep refering to previous years and take any improvement on monthly T/O from a previous year as a step forward. use the time on your hands to construct a direct mail letter to com prospects , review your on going market plans , go leafleting plenty of constructi things to do

Wayne maybe they would answer the door to a set meal take away for a nice suprise lol

I have made a pre printed letter that I carry in the van for occassions like that. It is nicely worded and encourages them to call back as "calling your carpet cleaner is the last thing on your mind when you have to leave for an emergency".
It works well and some but not all customers call back.

Had an equally great start myself.
Took the machine down to my local supplier/repairer as it had a bit of a leak and it looks like the pump is knackered.
Brilliant.
-
glad to hear she's on the mend alan, good luck and best wishes.

Thanks for the support guys its much appreciated.I have just got back from the hospital and have been told the pnuemonia was brought on by swine flu so she will be in for another week at least all being well befor 2-3 weeks at home to recuperate. Not good but she is in good hands so you have to stay positive really.Regards Alan
