Title: communal cleaning
Post by: simbo on January 03, 2011, 02:48:31 pm
can someone give me an idea of hourly rates for communal areas on blocks of flats. I was thinking of about 12.50 hr min 2 hour price, is this too low though floor strip and seal priced per job not hourly. I have not priced anything like this before so any advise welcome

Hi

Hourly rate is around the right price but I do think other companies will beat you at that price.

Will you be able to store equipment there?

If not the cleaner will need to carry the equipment back n forth so you might want to consider a higher price if there is no storage for equipment or will you be doing the work?

Strip n seal I assume its a vinyl floor and you are refurbishing it. That price will depend on the work involved and square footage and how many layers you will be applying.

hi there

it depends what area it is in, if in London, you may well get a better rate than the £12.50 you are looking at.

its slightly different than office cleans, in the fact that the residents are indeed the clients not the managing agent that you are dealing with.

i would ask them what the budgets are, you will be surprised how many will show you  what there is available to spend.

With regards to grass cutting are you aware that you need an operators ticket to operate a lawnmower, hedge trimmer and strimmer? Also insurance that covers for such work.

All the best
