Post by: james stanley on December 30, 2010, 11:21:35 pm
do any of you guys end up buying bacon sarnies and end up going through the drive thru at maccys? in this cold weather i always seem to want to eat bad food rather than eat wafer thin ham cobs!

Next Friday I will be all day doing a load of old people's flats. Right opposite is a catering van in a service road by an industrial estate.

All day long I'm getting whiffs of frying bacon and its lovely. Unlike the actual van which is disgusting but there is also a really nice cafe about a mile down the road.

Bacon was the cause of 9/11.

How was this I hear you all ask, well, I can catagorically state if I was a follower of a religion  that stopped me from eating bacon, sooner or later I would be driven to fly a plane into a building too!

It's Yorkie bars and bottles of Lucozade that get me through the day, supplemented by whatever sandwich or roll which takes my fancy, and however many cups of tea are on offer.

I went to the doctors about my weight and he put me on the letter writing diet. Every evening I have to write a letter to somebody. It doesn't matter what the letters about or who its to.

After I have written it I have to put it in an envelope, stick a stamp on it and then run to the main post office in town and post it.

;D KFC

A kfc popped up on one of my rounds last year me and lad with me ate there till we were sick of it lol

i try not stop for dinner, but if i do its usually fast food so putting a stop to it this year

Only one i will stop at is a jamaican food place on one round that does the best chicken and rice ever and is dirt cheap !!

but the kfc/maccys etc is getting cut out!

I gave all that pie and chips up years ago. £3.00 a day works out expensive. Plus after eating it I never felt like going back to work. So its a 69p loaf from Aldi and a pack of garlic sausage 39p and reduced calorie coleslaw 50p for me these days. ;D

Good point.

In winter, when I'm organised to eat cheaply and healthily I take a flask of thick vegatable soup and some cheese sandwiches to dip into it. Also two bananas as a morning and afternoon snack energy boost.

If I don't then chip shops, McD's, KFC, cake shops and newsagents will get paid several quid for food.

2011 resolution - don't buy food in the middle of the day!

try and space meals at least 4 & 1/2 hours apart and stop eating when your 80% full! and replace one meal with a single fruit e.g Bananas. and let me know how you feel in 2 weeks.

trust me, if you can do it, you will have more energy and loose fat!

so out of 3 meals a day, I substitute 1 for a piece of fruit, is that right? or can you have more than 3 meals in the day i.e
1. 8am, banana
2. 12.30pm, dinner
3. 5pm, tea
4. 9.30pm, another meal which I have no name for  :P ;D

Chopsie-

No, you substitute one meal for one kind of fruit. for example i eat about 5 bananas this gets me 80% full.

your meal plan is a little off to. you should count 4 & 1/2 hours between finishing one meal and starting the next one, E.G you finish your fruit meal at 8.15 (as you started it at 8.00) so this would push back your next meal to 12.45.

and finally, yes you can eat as many meals as you like! as long as you space them at least 4 & 1/2 hours apart. No Snacking. No exeptions!

and if you can manage it only drink water inbetween meals! all other drinks should be consumed with meals But dont worry about this final detail for now  ;)

All the very best. G.B

That sounds ok to me, especially having more than just 1 apple or banana etc for a meal substitute. I will have no trouble drinking only water between meals as this is generally what I do anyway.

i get throught the day by starting with a bowl of musli at 07.00hrs and 2 cups of tea before i pick my dad up at 08.00hrs

10.00hrs its vegatable soup from my soup flask

12.15hrs its ham tomato and lettice on full seeded batch wholemeal bread, a banana, satsuma, cup of tea

to snack on ill have a couple of rice cakes but they have to be tesco's salt and vineger

to keep hydrated through the afternoon ill sip a protien shake PHD Synergy which will load me with enough body sugar for a 30 - 40 mile bike ride or 2 hours on the turbo trainer while watching football on the telly while eating either jelly babies or jaffa cakes when blood sugar levels drop

for evening meal it will be something like chicken in white wine sauce with broccoli and new scottish baby potatoes

being a very keen road cyclist its highly important that i keep my fitness up and have a disaplined diet, so junk food is a no go for me

G Griffin- Do you know when your full? if you do (and im sure most people know when there full) you can calculate 80% full from this!

Its not an exact science though, but like a said before, practice makes perfect!  ;)

Ok GB, I get you. It was the 80% bit that threw me. But if as you say, it`s more of an estimate, then that makes more sense.

Sorry Chopsie! No sooner than christmas is over then out come the easter eggs in the shops! I would never pay 40-50p for one cream egg but the fact that co-op are selling them for half price meant I had to buy them. Next thing it will be the cadburys mini eggs and i'll gorge on them - It's a cruel world  ;D
