Post by: Pure Shine Window Cleaning on December 30, 2010, 09:42:57 pm
Hi i am setting up and hopefully will have my van all fitted out by the end of JAN. I am new to the game and as green as grass when it comes to window cleaning!! When i start should i try to get my customers on a 4 or 6 weekly cycle? Thanks  Was.

i have a mix of them all.
its the customers choice at the end of the day.
most of mine were 2 weekly, but most are now 4 weekly.

If youre just starting obviously 4 is better than 6 but its up to the custy at the end of the day.

Offer 4 weekly or some customer like to be on the same day at each month like me I have last friday in the month.
But as everyone says ask your customer what they would prefer 4 or 6 weekly cleans or even longer e.g. every 2 months etc. :)

4 weeks better for you as income over year is better (obviously)

however u will find some people happier with 8 weeks.

When I started earlier this year I would canvass them and then say "its £xx a clean and I call every 4 weeks"
simple leave it at that ... maybe I was lucky but they all went with it .... however as time went on and I bought some work the 8 weeks started to creep into my round BUT all the ones I have canvassed are still 4 weeks.

If you canvass a customer who wants 8 weeks as opposed to your 4 weeks just say fine and add a couple of quid to price - more elbow grease needed - harder bird poo - etc etc.

Good Luck !!

I always offer 4/6/8 (depending on location)

I'll give a higher price, the longer the interval, this way they save money and I get a better price for the job. Yes you need more customers, but over time you will find that your day's take will be higher.

But it's swings and round abouts, I'm still learning, and at the end of the day it's what the customer wants.

if i had my time again id say 4-6 weeks to everybody from the start, thatll allow you to drift a bit into 6 weekly if you feel ill,or  once you are chocka with work . i wouldnt drift past 6 if you can  ( though iv now drifted that way!) as the windows are so much harder work and then its a fight to catch up
