Hi,
No problems at all , no leaks, used it regular before xmas,
had no need for it this week as its mild now, and been out catching up.
4 hours heats up 400 litres,
;D
-
Thanks Gaz. ;)
-
No problem ,
it certainly got me through the below freezing days. ;)
-
I'm about to fit a 27" one into a 400ltr flat tank. Cold weather to return up here next week! :'(
-
I'm sure someone on here said he would fit them....
....can't for the life of me remember who it was.
;D
-
i would not fit a 27 inch horizonnal its not reccomended go for an 11inch if its 27 inch vertical its ok
-
iam tryin to get a plumber mate to fit me a 27,, immersiuon and he aint keen in a plastic tank.
why vertical & how did you fit it becouse he says he dont know how he would fit it without the inside being threaded ???
-
gazza what temp you heating too?
-
You need a backnut or flange to fit in the plastic tank.
The flange is the better option, you get them from toolstation.
I heard that over 14" needed to be vertical, no idea why ???
-
is the flange silicond or screwd in place?? n ill av a look at toolstation

It screws in, but we used silicone as well.
No leaks.

That's to do with domestic copper tanks. A 14" immersion fitted into the top of a domestic tank won't heat much water, that's why they make longer ones. ;)
There again, a 27" fitted horizontal in a domestic tank would be too long & hit the opposite side of the tank rendering it useless.

Makes sense.

depending where you are fitting it and what tank you could find a 27 inch hitting a central baffle

You're right.
Mine's going below the filler cap which allows me to get to the inside of it. It will will also miss the baffle this way. ;)

Baffle What baffle ive used my tank ion my van for 5 yrs n aint gota baffle ???
-
What size tank you got. Anything over 200 should be baffled.
-
1000 ltr IBC but well strapt down and anchord through the reinforced floor with 5 ton eye bolts it is usually full aswell. its been in van 4 yr and hardly feel it is in the van but most of my custom is rural with hardly any stop go trafic

I had 600l tanks on the Landrovers that had no baffles. It was a nightmare. They wobbled about all over the shop.
The high centre of gravity probably didn't help.
I use 6 lay flat tanks bolted together now. Much better.
