how do you sell a round and is it better to sell with van and equipment as a buisness. its wfp.
-
advertise on here,
or here. http://www.windowcleaningroundforsale.co.uk/index.php
advertise a price with and with out equipment, you might have more success selling separately though.
-
ive tried to register payed the fee and havnt received a password have emailed with no return
-
Put some details up on this site in the business opportunities section - Businesses wanted and for sale
You could sale it all as one lot or if you are prepared to sale the van seperately then do that, advertise on this siteand/or e-bay. Out of interest, where are you based?
-
i live in portsmouth
-
how much a month does ur round make,
-
4700
-
why u selling, if i had a round like that i would just employ,
if you sell for x 3 u are going to be asking 15 k which might be a lot for some one to pay
-
i want to move away from portsmouth.
-
if i was you, i would split it up and stick it on ebay, either that or rent it out for a few months and wait for resession to end a bit
-
Blue monkey - 3x ??
WHAT??
A decent round is surely worth at least 6x - much less one that turns 4700 a month, even with an employee alongside you thats decent money.
-
i agree
-
That's the bit that puzzles me. Who's to say what someone else will find "too much"
-
its difficult to put a price on a round. when i read up on it on other sites its between 2-10x depending on quality mines good but its all about what its worth to others. a m8 of mine sells franchices for 40k that turn over 15k ayear and he sells 14 franchises a year so people are prepared to pay there real worth. a buisness such as a cafe is worth 3x its yearly turnover and ive known this done. a window cleaning round seems to be worth much less though. but again its the same as anything its only worth what some1 will pay
-
i was using x3 as an example, even at x3 its 15k and i dont know any one that has 15 k to spend on a wc round, even at x6 you are talking 25-30 k i dont think you will find any one who would haev that type of cash around portsmouth
-
Take a look at the rounds in windowrounds for sale,
they sell for 5 x easily... if its a cracking compact round making nearly 5k per month , then i dont see a problem selling
Any successful business man with a bit of money in this game will snap it up.
put it in all the free ad papers, join all the forums and advertise it,
and bang it on ebay too ,
-
Subject to seeing the work and the 4700 per month on monthly accounts I would snap your hand off at say 5 x. I unfortunately don't live in Portsmouth, nor do I want to move there. Not that there is anything wrong with Portsmouth!
Blue Monkey - To state that you don't know many people who have 15k in Portsmouth is a little bit blinkered. Everyone who is in window cleaning is not on here.
I would approach contract cleaning companies with this and see if they are interested. 5K a month needs to be sold properly and I would get advice. Go to Business Link and see what they say.
I have sold a larger round than this and I got the money I wanted but I did have an employee who had a way to get the capital.
There may even be a large window cleaning company on here that just browses, rather than posting regularly that may be interested. There are over 20000 members on here and only a handful that post.
Put a letter together and see if you get any interest from commercial & industrial companies.
Good luck
Rob ;D

Not trying to appear to be rude, but i would seriously look at how you percieve a business. If i am not mistaken you were on here the other day saying that gutter/fascia cleaning does not pay well. All your posts relating to value seem to be negative imo.
the guttering jobs dont pay down where i am, as the custy dont want to pay the prices as they get doles in the summer to do them for £25 per house, they are just not worth the hassle to me,
-
Dave Morris St Ivel will buy that for 25K out of his small change. ;D
-
the works not in portsmouth thats just where i live its abit more high dem
-
If it were in Cornwall, I seriously would look at it.
As for gutters we regularly charge £100 plus, it's all down to how you Market yourself
-
whats it like cleaning in in cornwall is there much work or would i better of going commercial in plymouth as this is were i want to move your comments will be much appreciated
-
There is loads of competition in Cornwall and Plymouth, there is high unemployment and low wages which leads to low window cleaning prices. If it weren't for my 12 years worth of contacts and national work, I think we would struggle,
Just in the last 2 years I have seen more than a dozen people move to Cornwall and start up window cleaning, one or 2 have done very well, some not so good.
A few guys on here have recently moved to cornwall, Boldy, blue monkey, Gavin Bradley, Lawrencewc, maybe they are in a better position to advise you
-
i am based in midcornwall, and to be honest there is a lot of comp, be it summer brigade working for beer money around newquay, established wc who are cheap as there out goings are cheap, i lost work to a wc who charges £5 per 3 bed house, he then lost these to 2 trad guy charging £4, the one thing i notice more in cornwall than any where is wc working out if there cars
i make a living at it, but i treat it like a part time job, as i dont need that much to live on now, i dont know what plymouth is like, but from the work i have done there, there seems to be loads of wc
the last 2 rounds i seen for sale in cornwall was 1500 went for 3000 and 150 went for 200, there is not great prics for the work down here, more of a numbers game down here
-
How long did it take for you to build up where you are is there anywhere within an hours drive out of cornwall tahe you think will be less saturated
-
to be honest about 18 months, but have only knocked about 8-10 times, when first started picked up 40 in first month, then if i get bored moght spend a day knocking last time i knocked got 37 in 2 nights, there is lots of work here, just not very good prices
an example i got quoted 3.50 to do my house i have 7 windows and 2 doors
the wc who lives a few doors up from me drives to bodmin every day to work, had a mate start in st austell and every where he went there was wc working
