As the title says..
Removed everything from the van on Christmas Eve. L5, reels, poles and gas bottle. Anyway, I went out to van this morning to find water cascading out of doors! The strainer bowl before the pump had frozen solid and cracked and about 100 litres of water was emptying into the van :o ::).
Parked on a hill for 20 mins or so, to drain as much as possible and have now got a dehumidifier running to try and "soak up" the majority.
Has anyone got a link for the strainer bowls? Or do I have to buy a complete strainer/filter?
Cheers chaps

For the future: there is no pressure in the line from the tank to the pump (only as much as the height of the water above the pump) so I never used to have a hose clip on the pipe.
At night in the winter I just pulled the pipe off the strainer, tied it up as high as possible near the roof of the van (so there was as little as possible of the pipe with water in it) then put the outlet pipe from the pump down on the road and ran the pump for a few seconds to clear the water out of it and the strainer. That way if it froze it was just a film of water on the internal surfaces which was easy to thaw with a hairdryer.
Just push the pipe back on to the strainer in the morning.

Mine cracked as well ::) I'll have a look at tomorrow and see what I can do with it, if not it's a new one for me as well >:(

You might have trouble getting one, last year the suppliers ran out of everything that could be damaged by freezing.

Exactly the same part froze on my system (even with a heater in the van) and the clear part cracked open. It seems to be a very weak plastic.
