Hi fella`s,first merry Xmas to all,and prosperous new year.
Don`t know if any of you have had any problems with the
Low temperatures,but I`ve had my R.O. unit `blow `out the
Membranes and one of the filters, pump also. It`s totally `kaput`.
Evan my stand by bag of resin has frozen solid near the bottom
Of the bag.
In the new year,I`m going semi-retired officially,so much so,I
Recon all I`ll be using each week is between 50 to 75 litres of
Pure water each week.( Maximum)
What I`m asking is,is there any R.O. units ( bog standard) that
I can connect to my cold tap in my garage, then say just dis connect
And take indoors during cold spells etc. ?
My tap water is around 90 ppm.Would resin only be an option ?Or
Too expensive.
I`ll probably go for an R.O. unit, free standing perhaps,no booster pump as
My pressure is pretty good.
Thanks for replies.

At 100 TDS a 25litre bag of resin would last for something like 5,000 litres - over a year for such low usage. For such a small amount of water at such a reasonable TDS, I doubt it would be worth bothering with messing around with an RO. It may be worth using two DI vessels still though in order to avoid dumping resin before it has fully expired.

just buy a merlin ;D ;D

Hi Lewis, if you only need 75litres a week i will be able to sort you out, if you have any work your letting go i am sure we could come to some arrangement, Regards Dave. ;)

75 Literes is to add to his whisky per week and make the odd cupper.

Hi Dan,thanks for that.I`ll probably go down that route
Cos`I`ve a decent rainwater harvesting set-up also,at
Sometimes 000ppm.If it`s a dry summer I`m thinking
A `bog standard`R.O. possibly.
Can any members point me in the direction of fittings
To connect an RO to my garden tap.
Can`t find anything in the John Guest catalouge.
Any web sites to look at would be appreciated.

I got my John Guest fittings from Vyair:

My outside tap JG fitting is 3/4" BSP to 3/8" for RO Tubing.

That like we have had freezes resin solid, when it thaws out and melts
Is it oaky to use ?
Resin is`nt easy to come by around my way,
