How many of you regularly service your vehicles?
There have been quite a few posts on here recently about van woes. Remember that your van is likely suffering much abuse and what with carrying large amounts of water around, it's probably a good idea to service them every 6 months.
Not only do regular services reduce the chance of costly repair bills, they reduce the chance of down time when the van wont start.
Just a thought.

every 12 months without fail

The service intervals on mine are 18,000 miles or every two years - whichever comes first. In practice, it works out around every 17 - 20 months. I'm going to delay mine slightly this time. It's just about due now but there's an MOT in about 6 weeks so I will let it go over a bit to get everything done in one hit.

If its motorway miles then you can get away with the recommended service interval but if its stop start driving then cut the intervals in half at least, especially if you have a turbo charger, these things like good oil circulating in them. And with newer type turbo diesel engines stick exactly to the specified oil.

every week with a renault trafic ;D ;D

9 months for me, helps with the fuel economy.
i manage about 600 miles out of a 80litre tank doing it like that (well when the light comes on, so its not the the full 80 litres, maybe 75?) . thats oil, filter, air filter, fuel filter, done myself.

every 6mths could put of to 12mths as i only do 3000miles a year.but for what it cost its every 6ths

I totally abuse my Hiace, though i did do the odd oil change and replace timing belt as required and only once did it let me down recently when the Diff packed up!
I've just bought a new one and will be maintaining this as i hope to get 10 years + out of it, after all it is a Toyota :)

Mine's due every 10,000 miles or 12 months. It's a tad overdue for a service now, but will be done sometime in January (by me). The cambelt will be due the following time, which I will get my friendly garage to do.

Im sure it was every 60 K you should check with a dealer just to be sure, i got a sprinter after that as it has a chain rather than belt, no problems with lump but exhaust went 1k for a new one, handbrake cables nearly £200! they last for a good 200k miles then when parts start to wear out flippin expensive! got a Movano now, so far so good!! no its nothing like a trafic Gav!

I hadn't heard this before. I know that stop/start driving (such as I do a lot) does take it out of them more but just assumed the service intervals allowed for a fair bit of this. The only time I do a motorway run is if I'm going up to south London for some supplies or, very occasionally, if I'm using the van to go on holiday or to a trade show.

i service my van about every 10k oil and filter, air filter and spark plugs. but it runs on lpg so the oil stays cleaner for much longer than with petrol/diesel,
service intervals of 20-30k is asking for trouble, check fluid levels every month at least and once the oil starts to go black then its time to change it.
cost of service about 40 quid and i do it myself easy.
