Title: Best 40ft carbon pole
Post by: Matthew JN on December 19, 2010, 11:08:29 pm
Hi,

Can anyone who has used a carbon 40ft pole at full length tell me what they would recommend ?  I need to replace my 35ft Hybrid XTEL pole which i had up at full length today (plus an extender section) to reach 40ft windows - it was a new contract and i only just managed to reach a few of the windows - thank god for fan jets so i could rinse on the glass.

Must get a 40ft carbon pole for next visit, looking at maybe the carbon XTEL or Gardiners super max, but all input welcome - i.e Ionics etc.

Cheers fellas

not a cheap option but if you want a pole that wont let you down and withsand a good hammering it has to be eithrt the ionic 40ft glyder or 45 ft swift

myself id go for the extra reach of the 45 ft swift because you just never know

Not matter what manufacturer you buy from, make sure that each section is as small as possible.  -  Easier to raise and lower.

Supermax, however if you are looking to do more commercial with long runs of windows at 40ft then I'd say go for the SL.  In my humble opinion Gardiners make by far the best poles.

For modular then i recommend the SL2 - light strong and you can work for hours with it,

Buy a Gardiners super max 47 (example) and various butt stops and the pole can be what YOU WANT when YOU WANT it....why have 2 or 3 poles?

Have just 1 pole and when the top sections wear out/get damaged just replace them.

I have just done this and when the top sections need replacing they will all get swapped around and the sections from the super-max 47 will get cut down and made into a super-mini pole.

Cheers
Dave.

i third this just done a 40 foot office block with a superlight much lighter then our 60 foot ergolite.

dont want to say the obvious but a 40 foot pole wont give you 40 feet of working height in for a penny in fore a pound get the big one and then you can do anything.

 cheers  john

I would recommend a Gardiner. I have a SLX 35. Needed a 45ft Gardiner was on back order so got Ionic Ergolite 45. Wished I waited and got a Gardiner. The Ionic is heavy and only just fits in the van.
