Post by: clarkson on December 18, 2010, 01:02:28 pm
  Hi all

I notice there s a scorpion for sale in the classifieds, what do we all think of this as a machine.

I have a thread running at the minute about best choice for a porty and thought this will fit the bill.

   cheers

If I was going back to using a portable I would buy a Scorpion.

they do the job with plenty of power. but they are ugly and look like they were thrown together in a shed.

but like I said they do what it says on the can.

I got one
Great machine, quite a few hidden perks like see through tanks to see water levels and you can transfer pump hoses to your own solution tanks as they are extended loosely inside the freshwater tank.

Who gives a crap about looks. Only domestic products are built with aesthetics in mind.

Mine stays strapped down in the van so no-one sees it anyway.
As mentioned the internal feed hose means you can run off a larger tank from elsewhere in the van. if you use this method the downside are the float cutoffs for the motors, basically they don't really work so you do need to be on the ball for keeping an eye out for how the waste tank is filling up.
Also there's no heater but that's easily rectified with a 3kw emersion heater drilled through the side.
