you know the one that comes out the side of the hose reel , it the one i put my hose on to that feeds my 8mm pipe then to the pole.
its a push on  fitting that is hose cliped to my hose.
hope this makes sence

its the one that goes inside a hose with jubilee hose clip round then the other end pushes on the reel

to late its on its way , dont know when it will get here the snow is realy bad , our mane road is a no go . south warwickshire.

What was the matter with the old one mate, I had loads of problems last week with the connector blowing off the reel, it turned out to be the male connector on the reel spindle was worn. some of the hozelock reels have a 5/8 inch thread, not the same as the 3/4 inch that go onto your garden tap.if the male spindle connector is worn, I have spare brass and the grey plastic ones. All 5/8 inch.
