I have middle and upper back pain, neck and shoulder pain. I put it all down to wfp prolonged use. I have decided to live with it.

There are glasses where you look straight ahead but have a mirror that looks up. Mountaineer's use them.
A link was on a forum recently.

i had the same - always had the twinges in neck shoulder's

spent the money and got a 18 SLX for everyday work - pains gone
if you using extel type the whip you get from them puts strain on the body , the SLX being carbon is stiff as hell for a pole so no wasted energy.

agree with blue monkey
stand further back
use the right and lighter equipment
get rid of any work that takes to long to do
stick with work thats brief, until you are fit

Same prob.
I did this

Bought SLX 35, allows standing further from building, plus rigidity and light saves your shoulders and neck,

See osteopath , after few visits go once a month for tweaks!
